MMMMMmmmMMM good :)

Haven’t these warm days been a bit of a tease?!  One thing that we love to eat when it’s nice out (even when it’s not!) is a frozen yogurt from the Greenwich Health Mart!  First timers or those not big on sweets may say it’s just the same ‘ol ice cream- but it’s not!  It’s yummy, delicious, and healthy!  Hey, its frozen yogurt! Plus you’ll be treated with such genuine care from their helpful staff, you’d find it hard not to fall in love with the whole place.  Its small, cozy, and comfortable.

They offer vanilla, chocolate, and a vanilla chocolate swirl with organic sprinkles….sounds good :)   If you want a meal to eat first they also have sandwiches, soups, and more!

We often see our customers walking up and down with these delicious cups of frozen yogurt as well.  You’ve got to come down to Greenwich Ave and try the best frozen yogurt you’ll ever taste!

What’s for dinner?!

Do you ever sit and wonder what’s for dinner tonight?  I do!  I actually ponder on ideas everyday all day until I get inspired!  I know it sounds crazy, but food is very exciting to me.  If you knew me, you’d know what I’m saying!  I just enjoy food!  I love thinking about it, preparing it, and cooking it, most of all- serving an audience!  I love to hear and see a reaction.  It just makes my day and warms my soul!  One of the things I live for.

I often watch the food network for ideas to inspire me…it really helps!  For example, yesterday (my day off) I watched a few shows including Giada De Laurentiis, Rachel Ray, Ina Garten, Sandra Lee, and Barefoot Contessa.  I mean, I love the entire food network, it’s just these in particular that  really intrigue my taste buds!  So, anyway, for dinner I was inspired to make lasagna.  It was delicious.  I made two full dishes, one to eat and one to freeze.  Mmmmmm yummy.  Thanks Rachel Ray!

When I don’t have a chance to tune it I just log on and surf their website for ideas!  It’s great.  Just perfect.

Let’s see what on tonight…what’s for dinner?

….who wants a balloon?!…

balloons 005

Folks, don’t forget that everyday rain or snow, sunshine or not- we have balloons!!!!  Who doesn’t love balloons?! We love them and we’re here for you!!

The first rubber balloons were actually first created in 1824 by Professor Michael Faraday for his use in experiments with hydrogen.  It wasn’t until the following year that Thomas Hancock, a rubber manufacturer, actually introduced a do-it-yourself toy balloon kit!

By 1889 balloons became available to buy in the U.S. by Montgomery Ward and sold for just 4 cents each!  The first U.S. manufacturer of balloons was in 1889 by Anderson Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio.

Isn’t that interesting?!  So why have we come to love this?…well, that’s easy- why not?!  They’re available now in so many different colors, shapes, and sizes.

Balloons have and will always be FUN, FUN, FUN!

So…when you’re on Greenwich Avenue, don’t’ forget to stop in and pick up one of our famous orange balloons!

Need help tracking your Pregnancy?!

Parents, Parents, Parents!!!  You need to checkout thecradle.com!  First time, second time, third, or fourth- this is such a great way to stay on top of it all with out feeling overburdened!  I myself am preggers and oh- so busy, so it’s really challenging for me to stay on top of my many questions,” how many weeks am I”, “why am I showing so much faster?!”, “this isn’t the same as the first time” and so on!  Oh yea- this is my second trimester too!  I have an almost three year old and a growing 15 week old belly!

What I like about the website is that it’s not overbearing at all.  It’s educational and personal.  I like the fact that when I log on it shows me my pregnancy timeline, offers me support, and most of all its easy!  Easy to set up an account, easy to navigate, and easy to love!  It offers everything from baby announcements, to deals and discounts, refresher courses, outreach with other parents, blogs, and more!  Trust me, it’s definitely worth the time to check out!

do you know what an electronic smartcard is?

This is a convenient way to pay for parking at meters throughout Greenwich…replacing the hassle of locating quarters.  A SmartCard is the size of a credit card and is prepaid…allowing you to simply pay for parking.  Here’s how it works…there is a microchip embedded within each card that tracks the balance remaining on your card.  All you have to do is insert your SmartCard into the slot on the parking meter and your card will automatically begin adding time to the meter in .25¢ increments…deducting that amount of money from the remaining value on your card.  As soon as you reach the desired amount of time on the meter…just remove your card from the slot.  It is important to note that cards will not add time beyond the meter’s preset limit and will not carry you into a time when parking is prohibited.  So…it is still important to pay attention to the parking time requirements at each meter to avoid getting a parking ticket.  If you are interested in purchasing a SmartCard…just visit the Parking Services Office at Greenwich Town Hall…located at 101 Field Point Road…Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.  It really is that easy!
